Spring... at last.

There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud
was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.
- Anais Nin

Only a few days ago, it was snowing here in Seattle, but today is sunny, lovely and warm. Ah, I love how fast everything can change and I love, love, love spring. For me, spring represents the change that is blossoming all around us.

Finishing school has given me the long-awaited chance to contemplate different ways I might want to shake things up in my life. And, oh, there are many... For those of you taking the time to read this blog (thank you!), you probably already know that some big changes are coming my way soon. (More on this at a later date.)

As much as I love and crave change, however, I should note that it also scares me to death. This is saying a lot because not much scares me. Well, not much scares me other than ghosts, snakes and spiders... and, as it turns out, change. Luckily, I believe that when life comes knocking, you answer the door and walk through it. Even when you're scared, no - especially when you're scared, you walk through it. Come good, come bad, you keep moving and you keep growing because life is a crazy ride and you never know where it's going to take you.

So, here's to lovely, frightening change. Here's to sunshine and spring. Lastly, here's to the tiny buds that bloom into flowers and soon will bloom into the lives we can only dream of today.
